True Yoga

Hello beautiful people! It has been a while, hasn’t it? Been busy with revision and assignments. 😦 The UC’s are being mean and not giving us any hints so we have to learn everything, which is a lot!

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to write about what I’ve been doing to be a little bit healthier. About a month ago I decided to join TrueYoga. I went for a Pilates trial class and thought it was pretty awesome. I decided to join because for about $100+ I get to go as many times as I want and for any of the classes they have on offer, which is a lot. I found that after going for 5 days consecutively, I did get a little bit stronger and flexible. I have tried to go everyday for the past month. The most I’ve missed was this week, which was 2 days because I’ve been having sleeping problems. 😦 I even feel really guilty not going because I really enjoy the classes.

So, here is some info on TrueYoga from the site.

I will probably start posting more often once my exams are over. 🙂

Holika Holika CC Cream

Happy Sunday errbody! Hope you’ve all had a great weekend so far!

Just wanted to do a quick post on the holika holika cc cream while I’m on the way to yoga. Traffic is really bad around this time. Anyway, on to the product!

Previously I was using the L’oreal Lucent Magique BB cream, which I kinda liked, but didn’t necessarily love the product.

I initially had wanted to try the Holika Holika Jelly BB cream, but the colour was too light for me. So, the sales person recommended that I try the CC cream. After I swatched it, I found that it blended into my skin easier and it matched my skin tone a lot better as well.

For some reason, I really like how it looks on my skin and it’s really light weight. Although, there is a slight smell to it but nothing too noticeable or gross. It also doesn’t leave my fingers feeling as gross as when I use the L’oreal BB cream. It has pretty good coverage as well. I don’t feel the need to add concealer to my blemishes or scars.

The only thing that bugs me about the product is the design of it. It’s great that it has a pump, but I do not get why it is in a tube bottle. Wouldn’t it have been easier to have one or the other? During the first use I had to give it quite a few pumps before product came out.

Pricing wise, this is around the same price as the Bourjois Healthy Serum mix foundation at $35.90, plus and minus a few cents (I lost the receipt. :x).

Overall, I do like the product, not sure if I would necessarily repurchase it again though. This is probably because it is the same price as a foundation and I might as well just stick to foundation. That’s just my preference though. But, it is one of the nicer creams I used.

**slight update. I am taking back my words. I’ve been using this every time I go out because for some reason, my foundation just isn’t doing what I want it to do. The CC cream helps me conceals my spots and redness, and I don’t need to go over the spots in Concealer. *

This is what it looks like on..( My face is currently having a breakout. Not sure what caused it. Been about a month 😦 )

I hope this was sorta useful. Haha. Just what I thought about it.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

Origins GinZing Eye Cream

Hello Beautiful People!

I finally gave up on my assignments and decided to do a blog post.

I am definitely not a morning person, I mean if I needed to I’ll be up and running but I rather sleep in. It’s mainly because of my eyes. I tend to constantly look tired in the mornings even if I have had a full nights sleep. My dark circles are horrendous and my puffy eyes can barely stay open. I’ve been seeing this product around and I finally caved in and bought it (this was about a week to weeks ago :S). Yes, it is the GinZing Eye Cream from Origins. OH MY GOD. I really like it and it works great on my eyes. It definitely does the job of waking the eyes up. A bit of this and some concealer and I’m ready for the day ( I lie, I would definitely still need to do the rest of my face).

Let’s delve into more information about the product shall we.

What it is:

A clinically-proven eye cream that instantly de-puffs and reduces dark circles.

What it is formulated to do:

Late night? Long flight? Look tired all the time? This natural, clinically-proven morning-after eye cream instantly reduces dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness virtually disappear. And Origins’ proprietary complex of caffeine from coffee bean, Panax ginseng, magnolia extract, and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes, and restores radiance to tired eyes. Best for all skin types.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:

– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Synthetic Dyes
– Petrochemicals
– Phthalates
– GMOs
– Triclosan

  • It’s pretty cheap for an eye cream. The Lancome one I bought a while back was about $100+ while this was only around $30+
  • It does the job and awakens my eyes
  • It’s really light weight and doesn’t make my concealer crease or anything.

  • I don’t really like the fact that it is in a tub because it means I have to dip my finger into it. I would have prefered it if it came with a pump.

Overall, I think it’s a great product to help depuff and brighten your eyes. It is also fairly inexpensive and one of the better eye creams I have used. I would definitely repurchase this when I run out. This has also made me want to try the GinZing moisturizer.

I’m going to end here and get back to finishing my assignments. 😦 Boo.

Till the next post! Thanks for reading! ♥

It’s July!

Holy Crap! Where did the time go?!

Anyway, I’m currently really busy with assignments cause my school decided to set the same deadline for all of them. Finals are also only about 5 weeks away and I really need to start studying. I promised myself that I would start making notes or study much earlier this semester and, I have failed.

Besides all that boring school nonsense, I have loads to blog about. I just started Yoga about 3 weeks ago to help tone myself up and better my health (also to make sure I don’t get too fat that I can’t fit into my bridesmaids dress). I have a bunch of products that I picked up over the few weeks from Holika Holika, Origins and Bourjois. My parents also came down over the weekend and I didn’t have time to post anything new. Sorry to those who are waiting for something. I will get to posting something new this weekend or when I am fed up with my assignments.

Hello Beautiful People! 🙂

Just going to do a quick update about some stuff I got from Biotherm.

So the other day I ran out of my moisturizer and decided to get a new one. I’ve been using the Biotherm Aquasource Gel Moisturizer for Normal to Combination skin. Since I quite like it I thought I might as well repurchase it again. But, when I popped by the Biotherm counter at Galleria, I decided to go with the Aquasource Skin Perfection. The lady was really nice and gave me a full sized freebie of the White D-Tox eye make up base and a sample of Skin Ergetic.

I prefer these moisturizers cause they have more of  a gel like consistency and the creamy ones tend to make me a little oily. The difference between the two is that the Skin Perfection one is supposed to refine and smoothen out your skin. It does have a weird texture when you put it on, it kinda feels a little grainy? I don’t really know how to describe it. Apparently the website says that, “The refreshing frosted texture works like a re-surfacing glaze to reduce skin irregularities and dull complexion.”

So far I haven’t had any problems with the moisturizer  and I find that the scent is a lot lighter than the other moisturizers that Biotherm have. It is a little more expensive than the other Aquasource moisturizer.

From the testers, I have only used the eye make up base and I am loving it! It really helps counteract the darkness of my undereye circles, which I unfortunately have a bad case of. I can’t go out without concealer or people will ask if I haven’t slept in days, even when I have had a nice nights sleep. Tragic, I know. Haha. Thank God for concealer!  Anyway, I would most probably be repurchasing this in the future when I run out. I can definitely see a difference when I have it on under my concealer.

*update * I found out that the eye make up base is $86 which is really pricey. Might have to find a substitute then.

MAC Lipstick: Flamingo and Chatterbox

Hello beautiful people! Did you guys have a lovely weekend? I had my mid-terms over the weekend and I definitely messed up one of them. :X

Anyway, about a week ago, I decided to check out the MAC counter near my Yoga place (which will be up in a new post soon). I keep going to the lipstick section and swatching colours that I like and I keep being attracted by the Orange Collection. After 2 days of swatching, I decided to purchase Flamingo from the Orange collection and Chatterbox from the normal range. Although, I was a little unsure about Chatterbox. But, all I can say is I am OBSESSED with both these colours! They are both very wearable and forgiving as well. As a person with the plight of dry lips, most lipstick show the horrid condition of my lips and just make me not ever want to wear lipsticks. I know that most people have found the MAC lipsticks formula to be drying, but I have found that that doesn’t apply to me. YAY! 😀

Anyway, on to the photos!

MAC lipsticks

When I had initially swatched Flamingo, it looked for Coral to me but it does on like a sweet pink. It does have a hint of coral and the lipstick does give more coverage than the average lustre finish. It is also probably the only lustre lipstick that I really like.

The MAC Chatterbox Lipstick is a really pretty pink. I have fairly pigmented lips, so I have been searching for a pretty pink that looks fairly natural. It is a neutral pink that I think would look good on most or all skin types. It is a creamy lipstick which keeps it from being too drying. I love this colour as it stands out but isn’t overwhelming. Although I like my brights, I have been trying to find more wearable day time lipsticks.

Overall, I highly recommend both colours. I know that Flamingo is sold out in most MAC stores in the US, so I am going to buy an extra for myself and one for my sister when I head to the MAC store again. 🙂

I hope this was useful to someone. If you like this post, follow me on wordpress or bloglovin’!

Thank you! xx
